Features: Meeting Better and Working Smarter? That's Our Jam
Clear the noise and get your team moving in sync
Let’s be honest: most teams are juggling too many tools and spending way too much time in meetings that could’ve been emails. At Ripple, we reckon there’s a better way to get things done.
We built Ripple with a bit of Kiwi ingenuity and a “number eight wire” mentality. We believe technology should give you time back, not take more of it. That’s where Jams come in.
What exactly is a Jam?
Think of a Jam as your digital room for focused collaboration. It’s based on the “flipped meeting” model. Instead of dragging everyone into a room to listen to status updates, you share that context asynchronously (on your own time), so when you do meet live, you’re there to make decisions, not just catch up.
A Jam is a structured space to share updates, align on goals, and capture outcomes — all before a live meeting even happens.
Here is how you can use Jams to clear the noise and get your team moving in sync.
1. Set the Stage (Async Prep)
A great meeting starts before anyone logs onto a call. In a Jam, you start by defining a clear Objective and breaking it down into Topics.
For each topic, you can record a quick 3-minute video update or drop in written notes and files. This gives your team the full context they need without the pressure of a live performance. It’s about clarity, not meaningful looks across a boardroom table.
2. The Team Jumps In
Once your Jam is live, your team can participate whenever it suits them. They can:
- Watch your updates and read the briefs.
- Respond with their own videos or comments.
- Use Sentiment Buttons (Happy, Unhappy, or Let’s Meet) to give you an instant read on alignment.
This is where the magic happens. You’re gathering input and spotting blockers without the scheduling Tetris.
3. Let AI Do the Heavy Lifting
While you’re collaborating, Ripple’s built-in AI is working in the background. It tracks participation and summarizes the conversation as it happens.
Need to know where things stand? One click gives you a Summary & Next Steps view, highlighting what’s resolved and what still needs attention. The AI even auto-generates tasks from the discussion, so nothing slips through the cracks.
4. Only Meet When It Matters
Here is the best part: often, you’ll find the Jam resolves everything, and you get to skip the live meeting entirely.
But if there is still something to thrash out, Ripple generates a focused agenda based only on the unresolved topics. You can then use our smart scheduling to book a time that works for everyone.
Why switch to Jams?
We aren’t just trying to add another tool to your stack; we want to replace the clutter. Teams using Jams typically see a 60-70% reduction in recurring meetings*.
Start Async: Share ideas and updates when you’re fresh.
Stay Aligned: Use sentiment tracking to catch issues early.
Action, No Admin: Let the AI handle the summaries and task assignments.
Ready to give it a crack?
Jams are perfect for weekly check-ins, sprint reviews, or just getting a project moving.
We recommend adopting a simple rule: “No Jam, no meeting”. If there isn’t a clear objective and context shared upfront in Ripple, it’s probably not ready for live time.
